We watched the video and then students wrote about a word that is powerful in their lives. We used this as a generating activity for a personal narrative unit. Really good lesson.

Since I've had the iPad, I've helped more kids understand words by searching for an image than I would have expected. I've also pulled up images for the whole class during a discussion and just thrown the iPad under the document camera. It's so cool to have a window looking into the whole world just right at your... fingertips :)
